We are harvesting our wild field apples. And those of you who know Irish Hollow are sure to guess what that means... Rustic Field Apple Tarts.... this week in a crisp whole wheat and almond crust. We are tossing the apples in our Wild Blueberry Conserve and mixing with fresh peach slices, before folding into the crust, to create the ideal end-of-summer dessert. These apples are of heirloom varieties, from seeds delivered to the property over many years by generous birds. They look and taste like apples should.
