We really LOVE this bread, and it has become a favorite of many.  For those who have asked for the recipe.... here you go!
In the blender, blend 2 eggs, 2 Tbs. butter, 3/4 cups sugar, 1 medium orange, cut into pieces, seeded (but not peeled!), 1 cup dates pitted.  blend on/off motion til well chopped, (but not liquified.)
Sift together:  1 3/4 cup flour, 1 tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp. salt.  Add 1 cup chopped pecans.
Add dry to wet and stir until well combined.
Turn into reased loaf pan, and bake +/- 1 hour at 350 degrees until done and bread begins to darken.
Meanwhile make a sauce of 1/2 cup orange juice, 1/2 cup sugar and 4 Tbs. Gran Marnier (or Triple Sec)
When bead comes out of oven, prick with wooken pick and pour sauce over top.  Let bread stand 20 min. before removing from pan.  Eat!
